This wooden and neoprene wrapped dumbbell addresses that age old issue of the dog hating to hold the dumbbell in its mouth. After a dog of mine lost interest in the dumbbell work I devised this dumbbell. It has worked well for me and it has brought him back into being interested in the dumbbell work. This training dumbbell is constructed of a wooden training dumbbell that has the center wrapped with dense layers of neoprene. Dogs like this texture in their mouth. One day while I was out working him my little 13 month old female broke loose ran up behind him and stole the dumbbell away from him. This is what the 5 photo picture is of. She looks so funny in the last one with that guilty look on her face. The competition for this has done wonders in making the dumbbell work fun again. Made in USA

My dog used to drop the dumbbell the second I tossed it, but the wooden core keeps its weight balanced while the neoprene wrap gives her enough grip to actually hold on. She'll carry it around the yard now instead of just staring at me.

The neoprene coating gives my pup a much better grip than plain wood, and the wrapped texture seems gentler on her gums during training sessions. It’s sturdy enough for daily reps, and she’s actually started picking it up on her own now.

My dog used to drop dumbbells the second I put them in his mouth, but the neoprene wrap must feel way better than bare wood because he actually holds onto this one. The wooden core keeps it sturdy enough for training sessions without being heavy. He’s picked it up on the first try every time since w
